- Conduct discussions with stakeholders (interviews, workshops, observation, questionnaires)
- Analyze business processes
- Understand the goals, problems, and wishes of stakeholders
- Structure requirements, prioritize them, and check them for completeness
- Ensure consistency, feasibility, and clarity
- Document requirements in suitable formats (e.g., specifications, use cases, user stories, UML models)
- Coordinate requirements with stakeholders and the project team
- Clarify contradictions and misunderstandings
- Ensure that the requirements support the business objectives
- Control changes to requirements (change management)
- Establish traceability (from the requirement to implementation and testing)
- Maintain requirements throughout the project lifecycle
- Act as an interface between the business department and development
- Moderate different stakeholder perspectives
- Present technical issues in a way that is understandable to business departments and vice versa.
- Analytical thinking and structured approach
- Knowledge of testing methodology (e.g., ISTQB standard)
- Experience with testing tools (manual and automated)
- Basic understanding of software development (e.g., programming, CI/CD)
