This is a contract remote role for a Hands Technician at the Equinix AM5 data center associated with FDCServers.NET. As a Hands Technician, your day-to-day tasks will include assisting with the physical installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of server and network equipment. You will also be responsible for performing routine hardware checks, managing cable connections, and addressing technical issues efficiently as they arise. Providing effective communication and reporting on tasks and system updates is a crucial part of this role.
- Technical hardware skills, including experience with the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of server and networking equipment
- Ability to perform cable management efficiently, including labeling and organizing network and power cables
- Knowledge of system diagnostics, testing hardware components, and identifying and resolving faults
- Effective communication skills to report updates, coordinate with remote teams, and provide routine task documentation
- Flexibility to adapt to dynamic environments and willingness to work on-call tasks if needed
- Previous experience working in a data center or a similar technical role is a plus
- Technical certifications or relevant training is an advantage
