Position: Transactional / Regulatory Associate
Type: Hourly contract
Compensation: $180–$200 per hour
Commitment: 10-40 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
- Draft realistic legal research questions based on transactional and regulatory practice scenarios
- Develop research problems related to corporate transactions, securities regulation, administrative law, and compliance frameworks
- Incorporate jurisdiction-specific statutory and regulatory interpretation in legal research prompts
- Frame issues requiring synthesis of statutory text, agency guidance, case law, and legislative materials where relevant
- Ensure questions reflect real client-driven legal matters rather than abstract academic hypotheticals
- Clearly scope legal research problems so they can be addressed through professional legal analysis
Requirements
- Professional experience in transactional or regulatory legal practice at a law firm
- Strong background interpreting statutes and regulatory frameworks
- Experience researching federal or state regulatory systems
- Ability to clearly structure legal research questions and issues
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory advisory work
- Experience engaging with regulatory agencies or working within regulated industries is beneficial
- Interest in legal technology or AI-related initiatives is advantageous
