About The Role
The Instructional Recruiter at Rocketship Public Schools plays a pivotal role in attracting, sourcing, and hiring high-caliber instructional staff to support the organization’s mission. This position is responsible for managing the full-cycle recruitment process for teaching and instructional roles, with a particular focus on hard-to-fill positions and building diverse talent pipelines. The Instructional Recruiter collaborates closely with school and regional leaders, as well as the Talent Team, to define hiring priorities, develop sourcing strategies, and ensure a seamless candidate experience. Based in the Milwaukee, WI area, this hybrid role requires attending recruitment events, community engagement activities, and occasional evening or weekend commitments. The ideal candidate will be proactive, relationship-oriented, and committed to advancing educational equity through strategic talent acquisition.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; PHR/SHRM certification is a plus.
- 3-5 years of full-cycle talent acquisition experience, preferably in K-12 education or related organizations.
- Proven success in sourcing and building diverse candidate pipelines.
- Experience in recruiting for instructional roles, with a focus on hard-to-fill positions.
- Strong knowledge of search engines, job boards, social networks, and sourcing tools.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data, track recruitment metrics, and use insights to improve processes.
- Experience in school leadership or teaching is highly valued.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Deep commitment to Rocketship's mission and educational equity.
- Partner with school leaders to define candidate profiles, non-negotiables, and hiring priorities for instructional roles.
- Actively source candidates through creative channels including LinkedIn, Indeed, WECAN, professional networks, grassroots outreach, and social media campaigns.
- Utilize Boolean search techniques and talent communities to target high-need roles and build robust pipelines.
- Create compelling outreach campaigns that communicate Rocketship’s mission and value proposition to attract top talent.
- Conduct resume reviews, phone screens, and candidate assessments to ensure alignment with role requirements and school culture.
- Ensure timely progression of candidates through the hiring process, aiming for application to interview within two weeks.
- Provide hiring managers with at least two qualified candidates per open position and track offer acceptance rates.
- Coordinate and facilitate interview and selection events, including hiring fairs and community engagement activities.
- Hold regular check-ins with principals and regional leaders to review hiring progress, address barriers, and set hiring benchmarks.
- Gather and analyze recruitment data to inform decision-making and improve hiring strategies.
- Train and support school hiring teams on best practices in interviewing and candidate experience.
- Represent Rocketship Public Schools at career fairs, university events, and community gatherings to promote our mission and attract diverse talent.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, universities, and professional associations to strengthen talent pipelines.
- Partner with HR and pre-boarding teams to ensure a smooth transition for new hires and conduct pulse checks within the first 90 days to support retention.
