Role Description
We are looking for a Quality and Operations Specialist to join our scientific instrumentation team. This unique role bridges the gap between our back-office sales process and our hands-on product incoming inspection, return and repair, product updates.
One hour you might be inspecting an incoming container of laboratory equipment; the next, you might be in the warehouse troubleshooting a mechanical issue on a centrifuge or ensuring a high-value laser is crated for safe transit.
Key Responsibilities
- Incoming Product Quality: Execute accurate incoming product quality inspection for products to be places in our ERP system, ensuring all technical specifications and product performance meet expectations.
- Technical Warehouse Ops: Oversee the shipping and receiving of sensitive scientific instruments. Use your mechanical aptitude to perform basic assembly, quality checks, and "out-of-the-box" audits.
- Customer Focus: Act as a liaison between sales and the customer, providing updates on order status and resolving shipping or equipment discrepancies with a professional, helpful demeanor.
- Problem Solving: Adopt a "whatever it takes" attitude to meet deadlines—whether that means jumping on the forklift to beat a carrier cutoff or staying late to troubleshoot a specialized packing requirement.
- Inventory Integrity: Maintain a high level of accuracy for serialized scientific components and high-value assets.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills: to assess data and identify trends or issues
- Hybrid Background: Previous experience in both a warehouse setting and a quality/inspection environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with scientific instruments, medical devices, or high-tech hardware is strongly preferred.
- Systems Proficiency: Skilled in ERP/CRM software and Microsoft Office.
- Mechanical Skillset: Hands-on experience with tools and a natural ability to understand how machinery works.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills: to relay findings and recommendations
- Attention to detail and ability to ensure product reliability and consistency
- Associate's degree in a related field such as Life Sciences, Engineering, or Quality Management prefered
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
