This role plays a key part in supporting healthcare procurement strategy through contract management, sourcing optimization, and value analysis initiatives. You will be responsible for driving cost-effective purchasing decisions across a wide range of supplies, equipment, services, and capital projects. The position involves close collaboration with clinical leaders, department heads, and vendors to ensure alignment, standardization, and compliance across contracting activities. You will analyze proposals, negotiate agreements, and identify opportunities for savings and operational efficiency. This is a highly analytical and relationship-driven role where attention to detail, negotiation skills, and commercial insight directly contribute to system-wide performance. Accountabilities
In this role, you will manage key procurement and contracting activities that support value analysis and strategic sourcing across the organization. Your responsibilities include:
- Performing contract administration and analytical tasks supporting sourcing, contracting, and value analysis initiatives
- Managing RFP, RFQ, and RFI processes, including bid solicitation and proposal evaluation
- Analyzing supplier proposals and contract alternatives to assess financial and operational impact
- Negotiating contract terms, pricing structures, rebates, and savings opportunities with vendors
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining procurement policies and standardized contracting procedures
- Monitoring vendor performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service expectations
- Supporting product standardization, conversion initiatives, and cost-reduction projects
- Conducting spend analysis, utilization reviews, and savings validation reporting
- Collaborating with department leaders and clinical stakeholders to align purchasing strategies and resolve procurement issues
- Maintaining expertise across assigned contract portfolios and supplier relationships
This role requires strong experience in healthcare procurement, contracting, and strategic sourcing, along with excellent negotiation and analytical capabilities. Ideal candidates should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Experience in healthcare contracting, sourcing, or procurement operations
- Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing methods (RFP, RFQ, RFI processes)
- Proven negotiation experience, including pricing models, rebates, and high-value contract agreements
- Familiarity with GPO structures, clinical purchasing, and physician preference items (e.g., implants, medical devices)
- Experience supporting supplier performance reviews, cost reduction initiatives, and contract standardization efforts
- Strong analytical skills with experience in spend analysis and savings tracking
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and procurement-related reporting tools
- Ability to work collaboratively across clinical, operational, and vendor teams
