Job Summary
Mineral City AI is hiring a meticulous and detail-oriented Proofreader for a full-time, fully remote position within the United States. The Proofreader will review and refine written materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with our brand voice. This role includes a $2,500 sign-on bonus and requires strong communication skills, excellent time management, and the ability to work independently from a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Proofread and edit a wide variety of written content, including articles, marketing materials, digital content, reports, and email communications.
* Identify and correct errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting.
* Ensure consistency in tone, style, and structure across all Mineral City AI content.
* Work closely with writers, editors, designers, and project managers to improve content clarity and accuracy.
* Conduct basic fact-checking and verify information when necessary.
* Apply Mineral City AI’s editorial style guidelines and industry-standard guides (APA, Chicago, MLA, etc.).
* Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced remote environment.
* Provide thorough and constructive feedback to enhance overall content quality.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a proofreader, editor, or similar editorial position.
* Expert-level knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
* Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to catch subtle errors.
* Must reside in the United States and be legally authorized to work.
* Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting.
* Proficiency with digital collaboration and communication tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, etc.).
* Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field (preferred).
Preferred Skills
* Experience working with SEO-optimized content.
* Familiarity with CMS platforms and digital publishing workflows.
* Ability to edit multiple content formats (technical, marketing, creative).
