Job Title: Proofreader

Key Objective
The primary objective of this position is to accurately proofread and format a variety of legal documents—including but not limited to proposals, patents, and court-related materials—within the timeframe specified by the client.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Consult client-specific style guides to ensure correct grammar, composition, spacing, and consistency with the client’s tone and voice.
- Review and provide quality checks on work produced by others to ensure compliance with project standards and expectations.
- Communicate with clients via phone and email as needed.
- Accurately track time and maintain detailed project notes for all assigned tasks.
- Provide regular project status updates to leadership throughout your shift.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance and maintain proofreading skills.
- Monitor your work schedule to ensure accuracy in time reporting and shift coverage.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned, which may include responsibilities beyond proofreading.
- Adhere to and support ISO quality standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in proofreading, English language work, or a grammar-related field.
- Experience with Microsoft Word document editing and formatting preferred.
- Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style, standard proofreading marks, and track changes is preferred.
