This is a contract role at 20-30 hours a week to run through March of 2026 with possibility of extension through June.


Position Summary:

The Specialty Food Association (SFA) is seeking a seasoned Project Manager (Consultant) to lead and coordinate two high-priority, time-bound initiatives.


This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, results-driven consultant with experience managing cross-functional projects that involve strategy, integration, and organizational planning. The ideal candidate will bring project management discipline and structure to complex workstreams, enabling leadership to stay on track toward critical deliverables from June 2025 through June 2026.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project planning, scheduling, and timeline tracking ensuring stakeholder alignment, risk mitigation, and milestone accountability.
  • Support execution of the 2027 strategic planning process, including mapping critical steps, coordinating input sessions, managing deliverables, and tracking outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with SFA leadership and cross-functional teams to support membership segmentation and dues modeling projects under the Membership department.
  • Develop and maintain project dashboards, calendars, and communication tools to provide visibility across the organization.
  • Facilitate meetings with internal stakeholders, maintaining clear notes, assignments, and follow-ups.
  • Identify roadblocks early and proactively offer solutions to maintain momentum and clarity.


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects (consulting, nonprofit, association, or strategy experience a plus)
  • Demonstrated success managing cross-functional planning and organizational change efforts
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Strong proficiency with project management tools (Asana preferred)
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and adapting plans as new information emerges
  • Prior experience with nonprofit governance, strategic planning, or post-merger integration is a plus


Time Commitment:

Approximately 20–30 hours/week through March 2026 (flexible depending on deliverables).
