About the Global Impact Coalition:
The Global Impact Coalition (GIC) is a collaborative platform enabling the chemical industry and related value chains to achieve a circular and net-zero emissions future. Incubated at the World Economic Forum, GIC is led by key industry players including BASF, SABIC, Clariant, Covestro, LyondellBasell, LG Chem, Mitsubishi Chemical Group, Moeve, Syensqo, and SUEZ. As the industry’s first ever CEO and executive-led coalition, the GIC’s members collaborate to address challenges that cannot be effectively tackled alone. The GIC provides a cross-industry platform to scale up crucial technologies and co-create innovative business models needed to reduce carbon emissions and advance circularity.
About the opportunity:
This is an extremely unique opportunity to join a vibrant community of forward-thinkers and change-makers working to advance on tangible projects with a real “hands on” mindset. Guided by our CEO Advisory Board and Executive Committee, the GIC benefits from engagement at the highest levels of some of the world’s leading companies in the chemicals and waste management sectors. This role offers a chance to project manage innovative business builds across various companies, and work with both highly experienced technical and commercial teams to advance on the chemical industry’s net zero and circular commitments.
The Project Lead will join a dynamic and rapidly growing start-up with industry backing. In this role, you will help manage and build tangible early-stage projects between GIC member companies, who represent over $350 billion in combined annual revenue. You will play a pivotal role in working closely with the GIC and its members to identify and lead (through a series of workshops) value chain collaboration projects that could not have been achieved by any one company alone. In this position, you will have the opportunity to attend frequent in-person meetings with the companies and working group members who develop current projects towards viable business cases during “sprint” sessions.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership in the early-stage development of large-scale industrial and joint CAPEX projects, with proven experience in structuring joint ventures and consortium-based business models within the chemical sector. The candidate will bring strong project coordination skills and the ability to synthesize diverse stakeholder inputs into actionable strategies. A flexible, entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive initiatives toward tangible results are essential.
