- Recruit and work with suppliers managing procurement contracts
- Manage product catalog
- Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships
- Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
- Initiate and procure necessary goods and services
- Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
- Control spending and build a culture of long-term savings on procurement costs
- High School Diploma or GED, required
- Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare supply chain management, healthcare administration, or business administration, preferred
- Two+ years of procurement-related experience, required
- One year of pharmacy experience as a pharmacy technician or similar experience, preferred
- Experience in collecting and analyzing data
- Knowledge of GPO contract pricing in the medical supplies industry
- Knowledge of common medical supplies and equipment used in a healthcare setting
- Talent in negotiations and networking
- Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
- Proficient with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for real-time collaboration
- Has a contagious and positive work ethic, inspires others, and models the behaviors of core values and guiding principles
- An effective team player who contributes valuable ideas and feedback and can be counted on to meet commitments
- Is able to work within our Better Health environment by facing tasks and challenges with energy and passion
- Proven working experience as a procurement specialist
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking skills with strong attention to detail
