Procurement Specialist - Technology ProcurementLocation: Edmonton, AB (Remote)
Pay rate: CAD$90/Hr - CAD$95/Hr
Overview:
Seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to support the delivery of complex technology procurements. The role focuses on managing end-to-end competitive procurement processes, contract development, and stakeholder advisory within a public sector environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage procurement and contracting documentation to support fair, open, and transparent procurement processes.
- Lead and support RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, NRFPs, evaluations, vendor negotiations, and contract award activities.
- Provide strategic procurement advice to project teams, business leaders, and governance committees.
- Prepare procurement recommendations, resource plans, risk assessments, and policy considerations.
- Develop project plans outlining scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies related to procurement activities.
- Monitor procurement milestones, track issues, and report status to stakeholders.
- Draft, review, and manage complex vendor contracts.
- Ensure compliance with applicable trade agreements and public sector procurement policies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or related field (minimum 2-year diploma).
- Professional procurement designation (e.g., SCMP, CPPB, CPPO, CSPM or equivalent) preferred.
- 5+ years leading complex competitive procurement processes.
- 8+ years contract drafting and contract management experience.
- 8+ years advising senior stakeholders in a complex environment.
- 7+ years experience applying public sector trade agreements (e.g., CFTA, CETA, NWPTA, CUSMA).
- 8+ years public sector procurement experience.
- Experience in enterprise IT and technology procurement is strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting digital transformation initiatives is an asset.
- Strong financial analysis and contract risk assessment skills.
