The Procurement Category Manager is responsible for end-to-end supplier relationship management and procurement execution across a designated portfolio of contract manufacturers. This role ensures continuity of supply by managing order placement, optimizing cost, maintaining quality standards, and driving strong supplier performance to support business objectives.
What You'll Do:
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management - 40%
Own supplier relationships and commercial execution across assigned contract manufacturers to ensure continuity of supply, cost efficiency, and quality performance.
Includes:
- Managing and evaluating supplier performance (OTD, quality, service, pricing, terms)
- Negotiating contracts, pricing, terms & conditions, and volume agreements
- Partnering with suppliers on inventory strategy, safety stock, MOQ, and lead times
- Resolving supplier‑related escalations including returns, shortages, and expedited shipments
- Supporting import/export and 3rd‑party coordination as required
Procurement Execution - 35%
Execute day‑to‑day procurement and inventory activities to maintain uninterrupted production flow in alignment with JIT principles.
Includes:
- Issuing and managing purchase orders and contracts
- Monitoring open POs, confirming on‑time delivery, and closing administrative processes
- Running shortage reports and analyzing immediate material needs
- Managing raw material and component inventory levels
- Ensuring materials and assemblies are available for production through proactive planning and expediting
Project Management – New Product Introduction (NPI), Displays & Rework (25%)
Own end‑to‑end Project Management for NPI launches, display builds, and rework activities to balance demand, inventory targets, and manufacturing constraints.
Includes:
- Creating, releasing, and managing production work orders for NPI, display, and rework builds
- Planning production schedules aligned to safety stock requirements, lot sizing, replenishment intervals, and build cadence
- Monitoring production performance and investigating/reconciling order variances
- Ensuring all production orders are completed on time and accurately closed in ERP/MRP systems
- Partnering cross‑functionally to dynamically adjust plans as priorities, timelines, and business needs evolve
Ongoing Responsibilities

What You Need:
- 3-5 years previous Buyer/Planner Experience
- 2+ years’ experience in Supply Chain (production planning & procurement), negotiating contracts, creating, and maintaining vendor relationships
- Understanding of BOM, Manufacturing processes, Inventory Management/Just In-Time delivery, etc.
- Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); strong Excel skills are required
- Must possess excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to balance short-term priorities
- Experience with supplier performance managements (scorecard, KPI's, QBR's)
