Job Overview
- Process and manage employee payroll accurately and on schedule
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Maintain payroll records and support payroll-related reporting and audits
Key Responsibilities
- Process biweekly or monthly payroll for employees and contractors
- Calculate wages, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and reimbursements
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee compensation data
- Coordinate with HR and finance teams to update employee information
- Manage payroll taxes, garnishments, benefits deductions, and adjustments
- Generate payroll reports and provide insights to management
- Resolve employee payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies
- Assist with year end payroll processes, including W 2 and tax reporting
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- 2 to 5 years of payroll processing experience
- Strong knowledge of US payroll regulations and tax compliance
- Experience with payroll software such as ADP, Paychex, or Workday
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Payroll Professional CPP certification
- Experience handling multi-state payroll processing
- Familiarity with HRIS and accounting systems
- Experience working with remote or distributed teams
