multi-entity, multi-state environment. This role manages full-cycle payroll, ensures adherence to wage-and-hour regulations, supports audits and year-end processes, and contributes to ongoing system and process
improvements.

Job Summary:
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing across LOVB’s
multi-entity, multi-state environment. This role manages full-cycle payroll, ensures adherence to wage-and-hour regulations, supports audits and year-end processes, and contributes to ongoing system and process
improvements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process full-cycle payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees across multiple entities and states.
- Validate, audit, and import time data including hours worked, PTO, overtime, premiums, and
- seasonal coach hours.
- Maintain payroll records for new hires, terminations, pay changes, locations, and tax elections.
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, blended-rate OT, stipends, bonuses, retro pay, and off-cycle
- payments.
- Process deductions including benefits, 401(k), HSA/FSA, garnishments, levies, and miscellaneous
- adjustments.
- Review payroll previews, investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely payroll submission.
- Ensure compliance with FLSA and federal, state, and local wage-and-hour regulations.
- Validate correct work location, tax setup, and local tax applicability for all employees.
- Download post payroll reports
- Provide timely and professional payroll support throughout the organization
- Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll regulations including FLSA and multi-state wage-and-hour rules.
- Paycor proficiency
- Experienced in Excel/Google Sheets (lookups, pivot tables, validations).
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
- 3+ years of hands-on U.S. payroll experience, preferably in multi-state, multi-entity environments.
- Experience in sports, entertainment, hospitality, or high-growth/startup environments preferred.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
- Strong collaborator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of working independently while effectively partnering with a distributed, remote team.
- Positive, proactive, organized, and creative - brings fresh ideas to problem-solving.
- Highly adaptable and eager to learn in a rapidly evolving environment.
- Ability to operate a computer and use a keyboard, mouse, and video conferencing tools.
- Ability to clearly communicate via video, phone, and written channels.
- Occasional travel may be required for site visits and events.
