The Role
We’re looking for someone who understands payroll deeply and enjoys working directly with customers. This role sits on the front lines of the customer experience, leading new clients through onboarding and serving as a trusted advisor for all payroll-related questions.
You will play a critical role in ensuring new customers are set up correctly, confident in the platform, and positioned for long-term success.
What You’ll Do
- Lead onboarding for new customer accounts from kickoff through go-live
- Ensure accurate system setup and a smooth, confident transition for customers
- Serve as the payroll subject matter expert, answering configuration questions and troubleshooting payroll issues
- Support customers via email, phone, and video across both routine and complex payroll scenarios
- Partner cross-functionally to resolve issues quickly and effectively
- Monitor accounts post-launch to identify risks and drive strong product adoption
- Contribute to internal documentation, onboarding playbooks, and knowledge base resources
- Capture customer feedback and share insights with product and customer success teams
What You Bring
- 2+ years of hands-on payroll experience (processing payroll and/or supporting a payroll platform)
- 2+ years in a customer onboarding, implementation, or support role (ideally in payroll, HR tech, or fintech)
- Strong understanding of payroll fundamentals including pay cycles, tax withholdings, garnishments, and multi-state compliance
- Familiarity with I-9s, W-4s, and general payroll compliance requirements
- Experience managing customer relationships and leading live calls with HR teams and payroll administrators
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple onboarding projects simultaneously
- Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex payroll concepts
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and commitment to customer success

- Exposure to contractor or on-demand workforce payroll
- Experience creating support documentation or training materials
