About the Opportunity

The Patient Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting patient care coordination by managing referrals, medications, lab work, imaging, and scheduling. This position ensures patients receive timely, accurate, and compassionate assistance throughout their healthcare journey. Serving as the primary contact for patients and collaborating with providers, the coordinator enhances the overall patient experience and contributes to efficient care delivery.



Responsibilities

  • Patient Liaison: Act as the primary contact for inquiries regarding referrals, imaging, labs, medications, and treatment plans.
  • Care Coordination: Collaborate with healthcare providers and facilities to ensure the timely delivery of tests and procedures.
  • Communication: Update patients and facilities on the status of medical services; communicate authorization details with pharmacies and insurance providers.
  • Scheduling: Manage patient appointments in accordance with established treatment plans.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and document all interactions while identifying opportunities for service improvement.
  • Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
  • Problem Solving: Apply critical thinking to resolve care-related issues and implement effective solutions.



Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Experience: 2+ years of customer service or healthcare experience; 1+ years of experience with EHR systems (athenaOne preferred).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office; strong knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
  • Work Environment: Remote work experience is preferred, specifically within high-volume call environments.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to communicate with empathy, professionalism, and compassion.



Compensation & Benefits

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
