Position: Open Source Contributor – Rust

Type: Hourly contract

Compensation: $50–$85 per hour

Commitment: 10–20 hours/week

Location: Remote

Role Responsibilities

• Design structured coding problems with clear specifications, constraints, and function signatures
• Develop complete mini repositories including problem statements, reference implementations, and executable test runners
• Implement clean and production-quality Rust code aligned with defined test expectations
• Write comprehensive unit tests covering edge cases, invalid inputs, concurrency scenarios, and performance constraints
• Ensure codebases are fully executable with correct dependencies and build configurations
• Maintain compatibility with Rust’s ownership, borrowing, and safety rules
• Support reliable testing and evaluation workflows for AI-driven coding benchmarks
  
  

Requirements

• Professional software development experience with strong focus on Rust programming
• Deep understanding of Rust fundamentals including ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, and trait-based design
• Experience building backend services using frameworks such as Actix Web, Axum, Rocket, or similar tools
• Familiarity with asynchronous programming using Tokio or async/await patterns
• Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB
• Experience writing unit and integration tests using Rust’s native testing framework
• Familiarity with Cargo tooling, containerization tools, and CI/CD workflows
