About the role
TrialMe exists to close the gender gap in medical research and that starts with reaching women who don't yet know we exist. As our community and outreach intern, you will be our boots on the ground across the digital spaces where women with health conditions gather: forums, Facebook groups, Reddit communities, Discord servers, patient networks, universities and health events.
You will find these communities, build genuine relationships within them, organise events or find events where we can cooperate, and help grow a TrialMe community of women who feel seen, informed, and empowered. This is a relationship-first role, not a sales role.
You will have significant autonomy to identify and test new outreach channels, and your findings will directly shape our community strategy.
What you will do
- Map and document online communities where our target audience is active (Reddit, Facebook Groups, Discord, patient forums, WhatsApp groups)
- Engage genuinely in these communities, answering questions, sharing resources, and building trust for TrialMe
- Research, plan, and coordinate online events such as webinars, Q&A sessions, and health-topic discussionsIdentify relevant patient organisations, charities, women's health NGOs, and clinics for partnership outreach
- Draft and send outreach messages to community leaders, patient advocates, and influencers
- Build and maintain a CRM-style tracker of communities, contacts, and outreach status
- Identify and approach potential brand ambassadors or community moderators who can champion TrialMe
- Report weekly on outreach reach, response rates, and community growth
You might be a good fit if you
- Are a natural connector: you enjoy meeting people and building relationships
- Have a strong interest in women's health, patient advocacy, or public health
- Are studying communications, sociology, marketing, or a related field
- Are proactive and resourceful: you find opportunities others miss
- Write clearly and warmly and you can adapt your tone for different audiences
- Experience running or moderating an online community
- Fluent in English
