What is ShopDonation?
ShopDonation is an online social enterprise, which links to popular webshops such as eBay, Booking.com and AliExpress, and donates a percentage of its commission to a social project of the buyer's choice. This unique concept provides a new source of income for causes, charities, civic initiatives, and social projects worldwide.
After successful implementation in other countries, the UK platform is looking for a driven for a relationship manager / networker with a network within the nonprofit sector, who is excited about building up their own automated online income and who shares our passion for making a positive impact in the world.
Where charities like Red Cross, Oxfam Novib and Make-A-Wish foundation already have registered on the ShopDonation platforms, next to many small nonprofits worldwide, we will soon provide them the opportunity to raise funds from multiple countries at once, because this concept will be present in every country where ecommerce is common.
This consequently means that each local platform strengthens and enhances the growth of other branches because our platform can be used by nonprofits and users that registered on other branches overseas. ShopDonation will be the first-ever international platform which provides us with a significant advantage over competing single-country platforms, even though those platforms are already million-dollar businesses.
* For those not familiar with affiliate marketing, adding the brands to the website is not a difficult process, we simply need to apply to their already existing ‘partner programs’. There is no need to have meetings with any of these brands to set up the platform.
Opportunity details
To qualify, you should have at least 20 hours per week to dedicate to running the business. For this position you should also be comfortable networking, hosting webinars and giving presentations and preferably have a strong network within the nonprofit sector.
The other part of your team
The ideal team is one that consists of an affiliate marketer and a relationship manager/networker. The affiliate marketer lays the foundation of the platform and is active in online marketing and social media marketing. The relationship manager/networker plays a vital role in expanding the platform's reach, thereby increasing revenue. As more nonprofits join, they not only bring in new recurring customers but also substantially boost the ongoing income.
The typical task division looks like this:
- an affiliate marketer (already present): Manages the website, uploads webshops, does customer service, does social media marketing and engages with online marketing to build up a reputable presence online. This is the person behind the scenes. The affiliate marketer needs to have 4 years of experience with affiliate marketing; experience with online marketing and social media marketing makes you an ideal candidate. We have a guiding manual that provides exact instructions on what online marketing and social media marketing strategy we follow.
- a nonprofit networker: Is someone with a strong network within the nonprofit sector, who already has an authoritative reputation and can effectively bring causes to the platform. This is the person who will be the face of the business and has a more extroverted personality. An ideal candidate can utilise their existing networks to create a respected presence in the nonprofit sector and is skilled in networking to establish new, long term relationships.
- If you run your own business/organisation within the nonprofit sector and have a dedicated team of employees, you possess a highly desirable quality that makes you an excellent candidate for this position. Leveraging your existing team and their expertise to manage and operate the platform can greatly contribute to the platform’s success.
Together, the affiliate marketer and networker possess all the ingredients to make the platform highly successful.
Income estimations
Within the first two years, when we both follow our strategy precisely and dedicate our focus and hard work to running the platform, we can establish a full-time income with a part-time workload, meaning around €4000-€5000 a month collectively. Within the two years after that, it can slowly build up to around €9000-€10500 a month (and beyond), at which point the income will become more and more passive. These numbers are based on actual statistics from other platforms in other countries.
The difference from other offers out there is that this opportunity presents a unique value that far surpasses a typical salary: a remote and automated income, all while making a positive impact on the world, while you can be your own boss. Realistic requirements for success (read carefully)
The above is something that will be achieved gradually over time, we will not establish this in a few weeks and we want to emphasise having realistic expectations. If you are not familiar with the time needed to build up a successful business please do some research on it and read the job description again (it’s different from what they say on Instagram and TikTok). Even though we are on the brink of immense expansion, and a lot has been built already, we are not promising getting wealthy in the short-term and want to discourage candidates with a maximum attention span of a few months.
Next to that we want to emphasise that while this needs a part-time time investment, it doesn’t mean it can become successful with 50% focus or even 99% focus; the hours mentioned need to be spent with 100% focus and commitment or it’s not going to work out. Thus we are only looking for a serious candidate with a long term vision.
Have a direct source of income when starting
When building a business, initial income is often modest, making it necessary for candidates to maintain a direct income stream on the side, for example from another part-time job or freelance work. When starting, if you don’t have a direct income besides this job, you don’t qualify for this position.
Support from ShopDonation team
- We will receive guidance and support from the international ShopDonation team to make the platform successful, as our success is their success. Next to that they have an inhouse programmer, front-end developer and UX designer, so we never have to worry about any technical or design matters as that team will always optimise the platform further where possible.
