Role Description
AYCE Capital is looking for an addition to the Fund's Mergers and Acquisition team. This role offers the opportunity to learn about the drivers of businesses, receive hands on experience working throughout the entire deal cycle, and visibility into the the direct impact of workplace outcomes. The right person for this role enjoys the challenges of managing projects, detailed financial and accounting analysis, and dynamic fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis: Organize, analyze, and project the financial statements of acquisition targets. Less time will be spent modelling and more time will be devoted to understanding the financial health of the business at a detailed level.
- Due Diligence: Collect and review operational data of targets to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery. Review contracts to ensure high-level viability and to coordinate with external stakeholders.
- Deal Management: Quarterback the deal process by communicating with lawyers, accountants, lenders, and other third-party stakeholders to receive the approvals, documentation, and outcomes that AYCE Capital requires to complete deals.
- Investment Preparation: Create financial package to present to the internal investment committee. At each stage along the deal timeline various analysis and reports are required. In tandem with our CEO, this role will have an inside view of offer creation, deal structuring, and acquisition selection criteria.
- Coordination and People Management: Handle ongoing communication and coordination of stakeholders. Ensure organizational cohesion and mange scheduling to maintain unbroken lines of communication between all aspects of the company.
- Represent: Act as the representative and extension of AYCE’s Executive team in interactions with Internal and External parties.
Requirements:
- Located in Ontario: preferably in or close to the Greater Toronto Area
- Experience an Asset: 2 to 4 years of Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Transaction Services experience will be viewed as an asset.
- Accounting Understanding: Strong accounting aptitude is critical for the role
- Independence: Ability to work independently, exercising sound judgment and decision-making skills without constant management.
- Intelligence: Exceptional or Gifted individuals will find themselves at home in the role, while those who are not will struggle with the demands of it.
- People Skills: Ability to read people and the emotional intelligence to handle high-stakes interactions which may be antagonistic, cooperative, or unpredictable. Genuine extraversion, enjoyment in networking, and ability to make a positive impression quickly - a very strong asset.
- Communication: Ability to professionally facilitate meetings and tailor communication appropriately to the audience.
- Project Management: Ability to manage people and tasks in a fast-paced environment to hit important deadlines.
- Diligence: A high attention to detail and consciousnesses. An ability to precisely follow directions in a timely manner.
- Basic Technical Skills: Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, & PowerPoint is a requirement.
