Currently, we're looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with strong experience in mining, mineral processing, or heavy industrial equipment to join a growing engineering team supporting multiple development projects across Sweden.
This role is suited to an experienced engineer who can combine technical leadership with hands-on engineering expertise. You will work closely with process engineers, suppliers, customers, and senior management to evaluate concepts, review designs, improve equipment performance, and support the development of complex industrial systems.
The successful consultant will play a key role in equipment selection, process integration, design reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives across a range of mining and industrial processing applications.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Supporting process design activities and concept studies to determine how equipment integrates into wider processing systems
- Evaluating mechanical designs, drawings, certifications, and technical documentation
- Working with suppliers and customers to tailor engineering solutions to specific operational requirements
- Reviewing rotating equipment and mechanical systems used within industrial processing environments
- Participating in design reviews, continuous improvement initiatives, and concept development workshops
- Supporting equipment selection, piping layouts, and process integration activities
- Collaborating with internal engineering teams and external stakeholders to deliver project objectives
What We're Looking For:
- 7–10+ years of mechanical design experience within industrial environments
- Experience operating as a Senior Engineer, Technical Lead, Engineering Lead, or similar position
- Strong experience with rotating equipment in mining, mineral processing, steel, paper, or comparable heavy industries
- Background working for OEM equipment manufacturers is highly desirable
- Experience reviewing and validating engineering designs, drawings, and technical documentation
- Understanding of industrial process systems and equipment integrationExperience using 3D CAD software such as Inventor or equivalent packages
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with customers, suppliers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Fluent English language skills
Desirable Experience:
- Mining and mineral processing industry experience
- Swedish language skills
- Experience working within both large organisations and smaller engineering environments
- Previous exposure to security-cleared or highly regulated industrial projects
Assignment Details:
- Location: Gothenburg, Sweden
- Working Model: On site or remote if located outside of Gothenburg with approximately 6 site visits per year.
- Travel & Accommodation: Covered by the client
- Contract Length: Initial 6-month assignment with extension potential
- Start Date: September / October 2026
- Hours: 40 hours per week
