Position Overview

Bull Street Partners is seeking an M&A Analyst Intern for the 2026–2027 academic year. This internship is designed for a motivated student interested in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, entrepreneurship, and lower middle market M&A.

The intern will gain exposure to the full sell-side M&A process, including market research, buyer identification, financial analysis, transaction materials, outreach preparation, deal tracking, and industry research. The role is intended to be educational and developmental, with direct mentorship from Bull Street Partners’ advisory team.

This is an unpaid internship. The internship is structured primarily for the intern’s educational benefit, and Bull Street Partners will support academic credit where available through the intern’s school or university.

Responsibilities

The M&A Analyst Intern may assist with:

• Conducting industry, company, and buyer research
• Identifying strategic acquirers, private equity groups, family offices, and other potential buyers
• Building and maintaining buyer lists and target databases
• Supporting preparation of confidential information memoranda, teasers, management presentations, and other transaction materials
• Reviewing financial statements, add-backs, revenue trends, customer concentration, and basic valuation metrics
• Assisting with market maps and competitive landscape research
• Tracking buyer outreach, NDA status, data room access, and process updates
• Supporting CRM, pipeline, and deal-management organization
• Preparing internal research summaries and transaction notes
• Assisting with ad hoc projects related to M&A, business development, and firm growth

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have:

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program, preferably in finance, accounting, economics, business, entrepreneurship, or a related field
• Strong interest in M&A, investment banking, private equity, entrepreneurship, or business ownership
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to organize information clearly
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally
• Self-starter mentality with a willingness to learn in a fast-paced advisory environment
• Strong communication skills and professional judgment

Prior finance, accounting, valuation, sales, or business research experience is helpful but not required.

• How an entrepreneurial advisory firm develops relationships and builds deal flow

Internship Terms

This internship will run from August 31, 2026 through April 30, 2027. The position is unpaid, and there is no expectation or promise of compensation or paid employment at the conclusion of the internship. The internship schedule will be designed to accommodate the intern’s academic calendar where reasonably possible.

Bull Street Partners is willing to coordinate with the intern’s college or university for academic credit, if applicable.
