Manager, Inventory Operations (Open to Remote)

At Penguin Random House, our Publishing Operations division has experienced tremendous growth and is seeking a Manager to join their collaborative Inventory Operations team!

With a focus on efficiencies and progress for the Inventory Management team, this role is data and process focused, with strong communication, organizational, and analytical aspects. It is a key role within the Inventory Operations group with significant visibility and opportunity for growth.

As Manager, you'll be the Inventory Management point person on a variety of initiatives and a nexus between multiple teams and departments. This role will have ownership over key strategic projects, tool building, and process innovation. Additionally, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining operational best practices for the Inventory Management team and analyzing performance against established KPIs.

Specific Responsibilities Include

  • Ownership of several strategic projects on key initiatives critical to the Inventory Management team
  • Spearhead new reporting and process enhancements, become subject matter expert on existing relevant data systems and leveraging that data into meaningful team analytics
  • Work across the Inventory Management and wider Publishing Operations teams to discover opportunities for improvement and increased efficiency. Develop, execute, and implement solutions
  • Development and maintenance of operational best practices for the Inventory Management team, including stock review and clean-up, component management, transparency of printer performance, and reporting against established KPIs
  • Analysis and reporting shared within the Inventory Management team and to the larger Publishing Operations audience, including presenting results and training users on new tools, dashboards, and processes
  • Special projects as needed

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience; publishing experience not required
  • Excellent analytical skills; comfortability with numbers and data
  • Ability to proactively and creatively problem solve
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required; PowerBI and SQL preferred

The Penguin Random House national headquarters is located in New York City. The position is open to remote candidates based in the United States who can work on Eastern Time.

The salary for this position is $80,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.?????
