Role Description The Machine Learning Engineer (Internship) role at BrainBite is a hybrid position based in ’s-Hertogenbosch, with the flexibility to work from home part of the time. As an intern, the individual will assist in designing, implementing, and testing machine learning models that power adaptive learning experiences for students. Day-to-day tasks include data preprocessing, experimenting with algorithms and neural network architectures, evaluating model performance, and contributing to prototype development. The intern will collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product team members to translate educational needs into technical solutions and help improve existing AI features. This internship provides hands-on experience with real-world EdTech applications and exposure to the full machine learning development lifecycle.
Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Computer Science and Algorithms, with the ability to write clean, efficient code in languages such as Python.
  • Knowledge of Statistics and Pattern Recognition, including basic understanding of probability, data analysis, and feature engineering.
  • Familiarity with Neural Networks and core machine learning concepts, preferably using frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Enrollment in or recent completion of a degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid setup in ’s-Hertogenbosch, collaborate in a team, and communicate technical ideas clearly.
  • Interest in EdTech, educational psychology, or personalized learning, and motivation to build inclusive solutions for diverse learners.
  • Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and basic software engineering practices is beneficial.
