APPLY

We are looking for a hybrid a Learning Experience Designer to transform how our Server Operations workforce learns, grows, and executes. In this role, you won't just design training modules—you will design the entire ecosystem of the Googler learning journey. From onboarding a new server technician to mapping out advanced technical upskilling, you will ensure our global operations teams have the friction-free, high-impact learning experiences they need to keep our infrastructure running seamlessly.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design the Learning Experience (LX): Map end-to-end learning pathways for complex technical roles in server operations, ensuring content is intuitive, engaging, and directly applicable to the floor.
  • Drive Program Management: Own the lifecycle of workforce development initiatives for Data Technicans. You’ll align cross-functional stakeholders, track operational metrics, and manage timelines to scale learning programs globally.
  • Bridge the Technical & Pedagogical:Collaborate closely with Server Operations subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate dense technical architecture, safety protocols, and operational workflows into human-centered learning experiences.
  • Measure Impact: Define what success looks like. Move beyond "completion rates" to measure true operational readiness, time-to-productivity, and workforce retention.

  • What We’re Looking For:

    • The Experience Designer Instinct: Strong background in LX Design, Instructional Design, or User Experience (UX), with a portfolio that shows how you solve complex workforce performance gaps.
    • The Program Manager Engine: Proven ability to scope, launch, and manage large-scale professional development or technical training programs in fast-paced environments.
    • Infrastructure Fluency: While you don't need to be a systems engineer, you do need a strong comfort level working alongside data center, hardware, or server operations teams.

    • Ability to apply Design Thinking and User Experience (UX) principles to analyze learner needs, map journeys, and design intuitive learning experiences.
    • Strong Instructional Design skills for creating structured, goal-driven curricula, microlearning modules, and performance support resources.
    • Competence in Visual Design and Interaction Design to produce clear layouts, interaction patterns, and assets that enhance engagement and usability.
    • Experience designing technology-enabled learning (e.g., e-learning, simulations, blended learning, and just-in-time learning) for enterprise environments.
    • Proficiency with common learning and design tools (such as LMS platforms, authoring tools, prototyping tools, and collaboration platforms).
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in remote, cross-functional teams across time zones.
    • Demonstrated ability to use data, feedback, and experimentation to refine learning solutions and measure impact on performance and adoption.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, Human-Computer Interaction, Education, Design, or a related field; equivalent practical experience also considered.
    • Experience in enterprise technology, AI, or consulting environments is a plus
