This Lateral Conflicts Attorney role is a fantastic opportunity to join a prestigious international law firm in a newly created role, offering significant exposure to senior stakeholders and involvement in key strategic hiring decisions.
Key Responsibilities for the Lateral Conflicts Attorney role:
- Lead and manage conflicts analysis relating to lateral partner and associate hires
- Conduct comprehensive conflicts checks, including analysis of client relationships, matters, and potential legal and commercial conflicts
- Provide strategic, risk-based advice on conflict resolution, including ethical walls and waivers
- Work closely with partners, the Office of General Counsel, and recruitment teams throughout the lateral hiring process
- Draft and review conflict waivers, engagement letters, and related documentation
- Ensure compliance with applicable professional responsibility rules and regulatory requirements
- Support the ongoing development and enhancement of conflicts policies, procedures, and best practices
Key Requirements:
- Qualified attorney (US-qualified preferred) or equivalent experience within a law firm Risk & Compliance function
- 3–5 years’ experience handling lateral conflicts within an international law firm environment
- Strong understanding of legal conflicts rules and professional responsibility obligations
- Proven ability to manage complex conflicts issues and deliver pragmatic, commercially focused advice
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
