About the Role
We’re looking for a Junior to Middleweight Art Director to help shape and execute strong, thoughtful creative work across brand, digital, social, and campaign projects at Bald. This role is ideal for someone who has a solid foundation in design and art direction and is ready to grow their confidence, craft, and conceptual thinking.
You’ll work closely with copywriters, strategists, designers, and project managers to bring ideas to life across multiple channels. You’ll be hands-on in the work – designing, art directing, refining, and presenting – while developing the ability to own work more independently over time.
This is not a purely executional role. We’re looking for someone who is curious, engaged, and eager to contribute creatively, while continuing to build their skills and confidence.
What You’ll Do
You’ll design and art direct work across branding, campaigns, digital, social, and content projects, translating ideas into clear and engaging visual outcomes. You’ll take briefs and develop layouts, visual directions, and executions that align with the strategy and creative direction.
You’ll collaborate closely with copywriters and strategists to bring ideas to life in a cohesive way, learning how visuals and words work together to tell a stronger story. You’ll help maintain quality and consistency across executions, paying close attention to detail while balancing timelines and feedback.
You’ll take part in internal reviews and client presentations, confidently talking through your thinking and explaining your design decisions. Strong presentation skills are essential – you should be comfortable walking others through your work and responding constructively to feedback.
You’ll manage your time across multiple projects, flag risks early, and work closely with project managers and senior creatives to keep work moving smoothly.
What You’ll Bring
You bring around two to six years of experience as a Designer or Art Director within an agency or creative studio environment. Your portfolio shows strong execution, a good design eye, and growing conceptual thinking across a range of channels and formats.
You’re confident working in tools like Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and presentation tools, and you understand how creative work needs to adapt across different platforms. You’re open to feedback, iterate quickly, and are motivated to push your work to a higher standard.
You’re developing your ability to think beyond layouts – considering narrative, hierarchy, tone, and how visuals support a broader creative idea.
Who You Are
You’re curious, collaborative, and proactive. You care about craft, ask good questions, and enjoy learning from others. You’re not precious about your work and see feedback as part of the process.
You’re eager to build confidence, take more ownership over time, and grow from a junior into a strong middleweight creative who can independently own pieces of work and present them clearly.
