This is a remote position.
We are seeking a thoughtful, research-driven Junior Policy Analyst to support policy development, evaluation, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate enjoys analyzing complex issues, conducting evidence-based research, and translating findings into clear recommendations that support organizational decision-making.
Research & Analysis
Conduct literature reviews, jurisdictional scans, and comparative policy analysis
Gather and synthesize data from academic reports, government publications, stakeholder interviews, and internal documents
Identify policy gaps, risks, and opportunities
Support in forecasting impacts of proposed policies or legislative changes
Assist in drafting policy briefs, issue notes, backgrounders, and recommendations
Analyze alignment with existing regulations, frameworks, and organizational objectives
Contribute to the design and evaluation of policy options
Support consultation processes with stakeholders or subject-matter experts
Prepare summaries, presentations, and visual materials to communicate findings
Translate complex information into clear, accessible language for non-technical audiences
Assist in writing formal reports, memos, and strategic documents
Participate in project planning, timelines, and coordination
Track policy indicators, legislative updates, and emerging trends
Provide administrative and analytical support to senior analysts and managers
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Sociology, Public Administration, Law, or related field
0–2 years of experience in policy analysis, research, government, or program evaluation (internships included)
Strong research and analytical skills
Ability to synthesize complex information and identify key insights
Excellent writing and communication abilities
Familiarity with public policy processes, regulatory environments, or social systems
Proficiency in MS Office/Google Workspace; data analysis tools (Excel, SPSS, R, or similar) are an asset

Experience with qualitative or quantitative research methods
Familiarity with consultation processes, community engagement, or stakeholder relations
Knowledge of government decision-making cycles or legislative frameworks
Understanding of equity, social impact, or human-centred policy lenses
Curious, critical thinker with strong attention to detail
Able to manage multiple deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities
Comfortable working independently and within cross-functional teams
Committed to evidence-based problem solving and continuous learning
Hands-on experience in policy development and evaluation
