Fast-growing companies often reach a point where their data is trapped in manual spreadsheets and disconnected systems. As a Junior Market Research Analyst, you will help us find these friction points and clean up the data so our clients can return to a steady state of operation.
About the role
This role sits at the intersection of research and systems maintenance. You will not just be looking for market trends: you will be cleaning up the information that drives a company's internal engines. Many businesses in their middle stage of growth find that their CRM or ERP data is outdated or inconsistent, leading to reporting that no longer matches across departments. Your job is to dig into these datasets, verify the facts through external research, and ensure that the information flowing into the company tools is accurate and usable. You will work closely with our operations team to help build the documentation and processes that keep this data clean over the long term.

What you will do
- Audit internal client databases to identify and fix duplicate records, incorrect formatting, or missing industry information.
- Perform detailed research on specific market segments to identify new opportunities and verify current company profiles.
- Write and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) that explain how to gather, verify, and input market data.
- Configure data tags and categories within specialized software tools to ensure information is routed to the correct teams correctly.
- Remove manual steps from research workflows by suggesting simple ways to automate data collection and entry.
- Verify the accuracy of competitor data, service offerings, and pricing models through structured web research.
- Clean and organize large spreadsheets to prepare them for import into new systems during a transition or upgrade.
- Assist in the creation of weekly data health reports to show where systems are stabilizing and where they still need work.
- A logical approach to solving problems and an interest in how business systems are built.
- High attention to detail (you are the type of person who notices an inconsistent date format in a list of a thousand rows).
- Working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets, including the ability to use filters, sort data, and handle basic formulas.
- The ability to explain a complex task in simple, written steps that someone else can easily follow.
- Persistent curiosity when it comes to finding information that is not immediately obvious on a company website.
- A preference for creating order and structure out of messy or disorganized information.
- The ability to work independently in a remote environment while keeping your team updated on your progress.
- A practical mindset that values a working, accurate database over a high-level strategy presentation.
- A fully remote position that gives you control over your work environment and schedule.
- Direct experience working with the actual software and systems that power modern businesses.
- The chance to see the immediate results of your work as systems move from chaos to clarity.
- A professional environment that values clear communication and honest data over corporate jargon.
- Autonomy in your day to day tasks with a focus on output rather than hours spent on a clock.
