Job Description:
We are looking for an Investment Team Associate (M&A) to join the European team and be responsible for deal evaluation and execution, providing support to the individual searchers actively seeking SMEs to acquire, among other responsibilities. The Investment Team Associate will bring value to the team by analyzing and assisting in the execution of SME acquisitions in Europe.
Responsibilities:
- Work with and advise NCA searchers on evaluating, structuring, and executing M&A transactions.
- Development and ownership of financial models with respect to potential transactions.
- Effectively communicate with senior Investment Team members on project progress and upcoming deadlines and/or deliverables.
- Collaborate with senior Investment Team members in the review and development of legal documentation of potential transactions.
- Oversight and review of deal memoranda prepared by searcher prior to investor presentations.
- Oversight of searcher-led commercial due diligence and third-party due diligence work streams.
- Present analyses and studies internally and to investors in support of NCA searchers.
- Assist in the development of “best practices” for the NCA Investments Team and searchers.
- Represent NCA to investors, sellers, and advisors in the deal process.
- Monitor and maintain reports for European portfolio companies.
- Support value-creation activities for European portfolio companies.
Must-have requirements
- Fluency in English and German (both written and spoken).
- 2-4 years of relevant work experience, ideally in investment banking, Big 4 M&A advisory, or directly in an investment fund.
- Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record in a directly relevant field.
- Strong sense of personal responsibility, ability to take ownership and deal with ambiguity.
- Well-developed understanding of accounting, finance, and M&A transactions.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills and appropriate interpersonal skills to engage with investors, searchers, and potential sellers.
- Based in Europe and comfortable working in a 100% remote and international environment.
