We are seeking an experienced and proactive AML Expert. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that our compliance and financial crime prevention frameworks are robust, up to date, and aligned with regulatory standards. Your Responsibilities
- Conduct and oversee compliance reviews focused on anti-money laundering (AML) and financial crime prevention, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Monitor AML programs, investigate suspicious transactions, and escalate relevant cases to regulatory reporting bodies.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for compliance-related matters, including AML transaction monitoring, customer due diligence, politically exposed persons (PEP) reviews, and data privacy requirements.
- Perform regular compliance assessments across key business areas, such as Know Your Customer (KYC) processes and policy updates, ensuring controls remain effective and aligned with regulatory expectations.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership and global compliance teams.
- Identify potential risks and design appropriate AML controls to mitigate them.
- Support the implementation of new regulatory requirements and maintain existing control measures in day-to-day operations.
- Assist leadership with regulatory obligations, internal and external audits, AML investigations, and communications with authorities.
- Develop and deliver training programs for employees and partners to strengthen awareness and compliance with financial crime prevention practices.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize internal controls to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the compliance function.
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities and law enforcement on inquiries and compliance matters.
- Conduct periodic reviews and maintain thorough records for due diligence and compliance purposes.
Your Profile
- Completed degree in Business, Law, or a related field.
- At least 5-10 years of experience in compliance, anti-financial crime, or a similar role, preferably within wealth management.
- Highly desired: Experience at a Big 4 firm or in a professional consulting environment.
- Well-established professional network in the financial sector.
- Strong knowledge of local and international AML and financial crime regulations.
- Proven experience in monitoring AML programs, conducting compliance reviews, and interacting with regulatory authorities.
- Solid understanding of data privacy regulations, including GDPR.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
- Fluent in German and English; French skills are a plus.
- Confident in preparing reports and presenting findings to senior management.
