AirBills is a high-growth SaaS startup transforming utility bill management for single-family and short-term rental operators. Our platform powers automation, cost savings, compliance, and world-class customer experiences for property professionals nationwide. As AirBills scales, we’re seeking an HR leader who can help us build and nurture a people-first culture, streamline processes, and support talent development across a remote, distributed team.
As AirBills’ HR Manager, you’ll oversee HR operations, talent acquisition, onboarding, compliance, and culture-building activities. You will establish people programs that attract top talent, maximize retention, and ensure a supportive, high-performance environment in a fully remote context. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role for a proactive HR professional excited to shape the foundation of a fast-growing technology organization.
- Lead recruiting efforts across all departments (sales, engineering, customer success, operations, marketing)
- Manage the entire hiring lifecycle: sourcing, interviewing, extending offers, and new-hire onboarding
- Develop onboarding frameworks to foster early engagement and productivity for remote employees
- Oversee HR systems, payroll, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws (multi-state and federal)
- Maintain accurate employee records, handbooks, and HR policies
- Partner with Finance on headcount planning and compensation benchmarking
- Champion AirBills’ core values and culture, supporting programs that drive engagement, well-being, and inclusion
- Support employee communications, recognition programs, team retreats, and DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion) initiatives
- Organize virtual and in-person team events to connect distributed staff
- Implement and manage performance review cycles, goal-setting, and feedback processes
- Coach managers on development plans, employee relations, and corrective action protocols
- Analyze training needs and coordinate learning and development budgets/programs
- Drive HR process improvements and automation (HRIS, workflow tools, digital onboarding)
- Monitor HR KPIs (turnover, retention, eNPS, time-to-fill, DEI metrics) and report to leadership
- Advise founders and leadership on org design, succession planning, and scaling people programs
- 4–7 years HR generalist, people operations, or talent management experience, preferably in SaaS, startups, or remote-first teams
- Track record overseeing recruiting, onboarding, compliance, HR operations, and culture
- Advanced knowledge of HR software (HRIS, payroll, ATS, benefits platforms)
- Strong knowledge of U.S. labor law (multi-state), benefits administration, and best practices for remote work
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
