Overview
The HR Project Manager will lead and support human resources initiatives by planning, executing, and delivering projects using established project management standards. This role works independently on small to medium projects and contributes to larger initiatives, collaborating closely with HR partners, business stakeholders, and the PMO to ensure effective implementation and adoption.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Execution
- Manage end-to-end delivery of HR projects from initiation to closure.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, risks, issues, and status reports.
- Oversee scope, timeline, dependencies, and deliverables; escalate risks as needed.
- Independently manage small and medium projects and support larger initiatives.
Change Management & Adoption
- Support change management activities including stakeholder analysis and impact assessments.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify change risks and resistance.
- Contribute to change and communication plans to ensure awareness and adoption.
- Track adoption risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder & Team Coordination
- Collaborate with HR, PMO, and business partners to define project goals and deliverables.
- Lead project meetings, coordinate tasks, and manage action items.
- Communicate project updates, risks, and milestones to leadership and stakeholders.
PMO Support & Governance
- Apply PMO standards, tools, templates, and reporting practices.
- Support consolidated status and financial reporting for HR initiatives.
- Assist with governance activities, audits, and process compliance.
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in lessons learned and retrospective sessions.
- Identify areas for improvement in project delivery and PMO processes.
- Support implementation of new methodologies, tools, or best practices.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Project Management, Engineering, or related field.
- 3–5 years of project or program management experience, preferably within HR.
- Foundational knowledge of PM practices (Waterfall, Agile).
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project management certification (CAPM, PMP, or equivalent).
Transferable Skills
- Coordination and collaboration across departments.
- Ability to influence without authority.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Comfort with managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Physical Requirements
