Job Title: HR Generalist

About the Role:
We are a growing company seeking a proactive, highly organized, and experienced HR Generalist to lead and support our HR function. This role is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and leadership and providing guidance on HR best practices. You will manage daily HR operations, performance management, employee relations, benefits administration, and strategic HR initiatives. This position plays a critical role in shaping the employee experience, ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws in both the United States and Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
● Employee Relations: Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practices. Assist in resolving employee concerns and conflicts in a professional and timely manner.
● Benefits & Pension Plan Administration: Administer employee benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave of absence policies. Act as a liaison with insurance providers and brokers. Manage the U.S. annual open enrollment. You will also evaluate and recommend changes to compensation and benefits strategies to remain competitive and cost-effective
● Performance Management: Lead the administration of performance reviews, goal setting, and employee development programs.
● Compliance & Recordkeeping: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, attendance, and training records.
● HRIS & Reporting: Maintain and update BambooHR, Botsford’s HRIS system, generate regular HR reports and analytics, and ensure data integrity.
● Training & Development: Coordinate and support employee training initiatives and
development programs.
● Policy Implementation: Review and update existing HR policies and procedures and effectively communicate any changes to all employees across the organization.
● Immigration and Work Authorization: Manage U.S. visa processes including TN, H-1B, and permanent residency pathways. Partner with legal counsel to ensure timely filing and
compliance. Track visa expirations and support employees throughout the sponsorship process.

Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
● 3–5 years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar HR role.
● Solid understanding of HR best practices and employment laws in the U.S. and Canada (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, ESA, I-9, etc.).
● Familiarity with immigration procedures and coordinating with immigration attorneys or law firms.
● Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
● PHR or SHRM certification is a plus.
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for the organization.
