About The Role

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our HR department. This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity for individuals interested in building a career in Human Resources and Recruiting. The successful candidate will support the daily operations of the HR team, assist with recruitment efforts, onboarding, employee engagement initiatives, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn and grow within a professional legal environment, gaining practical experience in HR functions such as employee relations, record keeping, and HRIS management. The HR Assistant will work closely with the HR Manager and other team members to foster a positive workplace culture and contribute to the overall success of the firm.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • HR Certification preferred
  • At least one (1) year of experience as an HR Assistant or similar role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
  • Experience working with HRIS and ATS systems; familiarity with ADP is a plus
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service by addressing employee requests and inquiries promptly and professionally
  • Support daily HR operations and administrative functions, including scheduling interviews and coordinating recruitment efforts
  • Conduct telephone screenings and interviews, and communicate employment decisions to candidates
  • Assist with the onboarding process, including new hire paperwork and orientation sessions
  • Coordinate participation in career fairs and recruitment outreach initiatives
  • Accurately input new hire data into HRIS and perform regular audits for data integrity
  • Maintain and update employee job descriptions and HR documentation
  • Ensure confidentiality of all HR-related information and records
  • Assist with compliance activities, including adherence to laws, regulations, and company policies
  • Support employee engagement, wellness, and recognition programs
  • Manage electronic employee files, compliance posters, and internal HR communications
  • Serve as a member of the Culture Committee, promoting a positive workplace environment
  • Participate in company events and initiatives as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support department objectives
