HR Coordinator (Remote – San Francisco Bay Area)

LHH is teaming up with a well‑established architectural organization in California in search of an HR Coordinator to support a broad range of HR operations, including onboarding, benefits coordination, basic compensation support, HR communications, and general employee lifecycle tasks.

This role sits within a collaborative HR team that supports employees across multiple U.S. locations. The organization values strong communication, precision, and thoughtful support of their people processes. As a key member of the team, you’ll step into an environment where cross‑functional partnership is essential, and where your ability to learn quickly and take ownership will make an immediate impact.

The ideal candidate is an experienced HR professional who can operate confidently in a remote setting with minimal handholding. You enjoy supporting onboarding and offboarding workflows, assisting with benefits administration, and taking on ad hoc projects as they arise. You are comfortable learning compensation processes, updating job descriptions, and drafting employee‑facing communications. Strong attention to detail, excellent organization, and a professional on‑camera presence are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage onboarding tasks including paperwork distribution, tracking I‑9s, collecting payroll documents, and coordinating first‑day requirements.
  • Partner with payroll to ensure accurate first checks and timely employee setup.
  • Support offboarding activities including documentation and process coordination.
  • Assist with benefits tasks such as enrollments, leaves, billing, and open enrollment preparation.
  • Provide light support to compensation processes as needed.
  • Update and maintain job descriptions within new templates.
  • Draft employee emails, wellness communications, schedule vendor webinars, and support engagement initiatives.
  • Take on special projects across HR depending on team needs and skillset.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of HR experience required, with the ability to operate independently in a remote setting.
  • Experience supporting onboarding, benefits coordination, and basic payroll workflows required.
  • Prior exposure to compensation processes required; HR/Comp Analyst–level experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in ADP and Excel (including formulas and troubleshooting) required.
  • Experience updating job descriptions preferred.
  • Strong written communication skills required
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work from a professional, distraction‑free remote environment required.
  • Canva experience preferred.
  • Experience using AI tools to support HR work strongly preferred.
