About The Role

The Recruiting-focused HR Generalist is a key member of the human resources team, responsible for managing high-volume staffing needs across multiple bakery locations. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in retail or food service recruiting. The HR Generalist will partner closely with bakery managers, district leaders, and corporate stakeholders to ensure timely and effective hiring processes. Responsibilities include sourcing, screening, and onboarding candidates for a variety of roles, including bakery managers, assistant managers, bakers, frosters, utility staff, and other hourly positions. Additionally, the role involves supporting HR functions such as employee relations, onboarding, compliance, and retention initiatives. The position offers opportunities for travel to support new store openings, staffing events, and critical hiring periods, with a flexible schedule to meet business needs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2+ years of recruiting or HR experience, preferably within retail, restaurant, or multi-unit environments
  • Proven experience in high-volume hourly recruiting
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with field leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Experience with ATS/HRIS systems such as Paychex, Indeed, or similar platforms (preferred)
  • SHRM Certification is required

Responsibilities

  • Manage high-volume recruiting efforts for bakery roles, including posting, managing, and optimizing job listings across multiple platforms
  • Partner with bakery managers, district leaders, and directors to understand staffing needs and hiring timelines
  • Screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and assist in making hiring decisions
  • Build and maintain a robust candidate pipeline for new store openings and ongoing staffing needs
  • Track and analyze recruiting metrics such as applicant flow, time-to-fill, and hiring trends to improve processes
  • Support in-person and virtual hiring events, ensuring a smooth candidate experience
  • Assist with onboarding, new hire orientation, and employee documentation
  • Address employee relations issues and ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws
  • Support benefits administration, timekeeping, and general HR inquiries
  • Contribute to retention initiatives and staffing strategies during slower seasons or peak periods
  • Travel as needed to support new store openings, staffing events, and critical hiring periods, including day trips and occasional overnight stays
