About CYB Human Resources

CYB Human Resources is a national HR consulting firm supporting small to mid-sized businesses across the U.S. We act as our clients’ outsourced HR department, providing compliant, practical, and people-first HR guidance.

As we continue to grow, we are strengthening our internal HR operations structure to support our consultants, HR assistants, and leadership team. This role is a critical part of that structure and is designed to reduce HR Consultant leadership involvement in day-to-day execution while maintaining high-quality HR support for clients.

Why This Role Matters at CYB

This role exists to create operational relief and leverage - ensuring HR work is handled confidently, investigations are managed correctly, and leadership is no longer the bottleneck for day-to-day execution.

Candidates who do not complete the assessment will not be considered for this job.

Position Summary

The HR Operations & Investigations Manager is a hands-on execution and oversight role responsible for managing internal HR workflows, overseeing investigations and employee relations matters, and serving as a key escalation point for HR Assistants.

This role is accountable for the execution and completion of client HR deliverables, ensuring day-to-day client issues are resolved efficiently and in alignment with CYB standards, with HR Consultants and leadership engaged only for high-risk or strategic escalations.

This role includes limited client-facing interaction related to investigations, complaints, and escalations, but does not involve completely owning client relationships, leading recurring client meetings, or setting an entire HR strategy.

This position exists to absorb operational HR work, manage investigations, and prepare CYB HR Consultant and leadership with clear summaries and recommendations, allowing CYB leadership to focus on strategy, business development, and high-level client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Internal Oversight

    • Documentation and compliance concerns

    • Investigation intake and next steps

  • Ensure timely, accurate, and professional HR responses

Investigations & Employee Relations Support (Limited Client-Facing)
  • Take escalated client calls related to complaints, hotline issues, and investigations (HR Assistants take the initial calls and provide initial triage packets for initial review)

  • Coordinate and oversee investigations, including:

    • Assigning fact-gathering tasks to HR Assistants

    • Reviewing notes, timelines, and documentation

    • Ensuring consistency, neutrality, and compliance in investigative steps

  • Identify and immediately escalate high-risk matters (including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour issues, or threats of litigation) to CYB leadership and external counsel in accordance with CYB protocols

  • Prepare alongside the HR Assistants clear investigation summaries outlining:

    • Allegations and key facts

    • Risk considerations

    • Documentation status

  • Participate in occasional Zoom client meetings (investigations with employees, briefing owners or leadership) to review investigation findings and process

  • Escalate investigations to CYB HR Consultants and leadership with recommendations; final decisions remain with leadership

Research, Compliance Monitoring & Legal Intelligence
  • Independently research and monitor federal, state, and local employment law changes impacting CYB’s nationwide client base

  • Analyze statutes, agency guidance, and regulatory updates to identify risk, applicability, and required action

  • Synthesize complex legal and compliance information into clear, practical, bite-sized summaries for internal teams and client-facing use

  • Prepare concise compliance digests and updates that clearly explain:

    • What changed

    • Who is impacted

    • Risk considerations

    • Recommended next steps

  • Proactively flag emerging compliance trends or risks and support the development of internal compliance resources and trackers

  • Demonstrate strong judgment and clarity when translating legal requirements into actionable HR guidance for non-legal audiences

HR Assistant Management & Quality Control

This role has direct supervisory responsibility for HR Assistants, including performance feedback and development input.

  • Directly supervise HR Assistants, including reviewing and approving client-facing emails and communications for accuracy, tone, and compliance

  • Provide ongoing coaching and performance management related to HR fundamentals, compliance judgment, and adherence to CYB standards

  • Establish, enforce, and continuously improve consistent workflows, quality controls, and expectations for assistant-level work

Organization, Workflow, HR Consultant & Leadership Support
  • Track HR tasks, deadlines, and escalations across the team

  • Maintain clear internal documentation and hand offs

  • Prepare HR Consultants for meetings by summarizing issues, risks, and recommended next steps
