About The Role

The HR Generalist at Gap Field plays a vital role in supporting the evolution of the company's outlet business, particularly within the Gap Factory stores. This full-time, remote position is focused on building strong store teams, nurturing talent development, and cultivating an engaging, people-first culture across multiple markets. The HR Generalist partners closely with HR Business Partners, district managers, and store leaders to deliver core HR programs, facilitate people initiatives, and ensure a positive employee experience. The role involves supporting day-to-day HR operations, providing guidance on employee relations, and assisting with talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, and retention strategies. Collaboration with HR Centers of Excellence—such as Talent Management, Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, and Total Rewards—is essential to ensure consistent and effective delivery of HR programs. This position is instrumental in fostering a motivated workforce that contributes to the company's overall business performance and growth.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting employees and leaders in an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, or similar role
  • Foundational knowledge of core HR disciplines including employee relations, recruiting, performance management, and HR policies
  • Experience supporting HR programs and processes in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze HR data and reports to identify trends and insights
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Professionalism and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and grow within HR
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR support to store teams, district managers, and store leaders, including guidance on policies and employee-related matters
  • Assist HR Business Partners in implementing workforce plans and organizational initiatives
  • Execute HR programs such as performance management, talent reviews, and employee engagement initiatives
  • Support change management initiatives through communication, training, and adoption efforts
  • Utilize HR data and reports to monitor trends and escalate potential risks or concerns
  • Contribute to employee engagement strategies by supporting feedback collection and action planning
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and Learning teams to support hiring and onboarding processes
  • Implement retention strategies and monitor turnover trends in a high-volume retail setting
  • Partner with Employee Relations to resolve employee issues ensuring compliance and consistency
  • Work with HR Centers of Excellence to deliver programs related to talent management, total rewards, and employee experience
