Summary:

Hello Alpha is seeking a Head of Operations with a passion for operational excellence and supporting our Care Team as they take care of our Patients. This position will have a strong focus on ensuring providers are set up to provide excellent care and support to our patients during their healthcare journey, develop an effective operational team, ensure processes within Alpha and its partner ecosystem are as effective as possible, and other tasks as assigned. This role will report to Alpha’s CEO.

Responsibilities:

  • Further Alpha's mission of affordable, accessible whole person care, with a focus on women’s health
  • Live Alpha’s values in your work
  • Develop a strategic vision as well as a tactical plan to attain that vision for Operations at Alpha
  • Build bridges between the operational and clinical teams and Alpha’s development team, aiding product managers in building products designed to streamline and improve workflows of providers
  • Have a solid understanding of the tools used by Alpha’s Clinical Providers and Patient Support Team
  • Develop and own the model for both provider and support team capacity, forecasting and coverage, including licensing and supervision requirements
  • Building a strong team through hiring, training, and professional development initiatives
  • Work closely with the Team Leads to respond to technical questions in electronic health records and patient communications systems
  • Lead operational teams in the review and optimize their processes
  • Develop, measure and own key operational metrics for Alphas business
  • Overseeing projects related to the implementation of new services and process improvements

  • Experience in managing day-to-day operations effectively, including scheduling, capacity forecasting, and workflow optimization
  • Experience in building and managing team extensions
  • Expertise managing and building culture on remote teams
  • Ability to optimize processes and ensure execution of new strategies.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) to ensure compliance and patient data security.
  • Building and managing relationships with technology vendors, healthcare providers, and other partners to support operations
  • Resilience and adaptability to changes in the healthcare industry, technology advancements, and regulatory requirements
  • Medical licensure such as Registered Nurse or other medical background a plus

  • Meet and start to get to know your team, set up recurring meetings
  • Meet and start to get to know the other department heads
  • Gain an understanding of current processes and identify opportunities for improvement

60 Day View: Optimize

  • Take action to improve processes based on low hanging fruit opportunities
  • Develop initial iteration of volume forecast, coverage and staffing models
  • Provide a fresh perspective on Alpha’s operations and identify opportunities for improvement

90 Day View: Scaling Processes and Innovation

  • Own operational forecasting, coverage and staffing models and plans for the longer term
  • Work with Product and Technology to identify opportunities for system enhancements to improve provider and patient support effectiveness
  • Play a role as one of Alpha’s leaders in the longer term planning for Alpha as a whole
