Summary

A global healthcare organisation is seeking a Head of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) to lead its international acquisition and corporate development strategy. This senior role will drive strategic growth by identifying, evaluating and executing acquisitions across businesses and product portfolios. The ideal candidate will combine deep sector knowledge with strong financial and leadership skills, fostering collaboration across regional and functional teams to deliver business expansion and long-term value creation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement acquisition and corporate development strategies aligned with the company’s global objectives.
  • Identify, assess and execute M&A opportunities involving companies, product portfolios and marketing authorisations.
  • Lead all stages of the transaction process, including due diligence, valuation, negotiation and post-acquisition integration.
  • Work closely with finance, legal and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with local and international requirements.
  • Create and maintain financial and strategic models to support board-level decision making.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external advisers and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to proactively identify new strategic opportunities.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law or a related discipline; a master’s degree in Strategy, Finance or Healthcare Management is preferred.
  • At least ten years’ experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate development or strategic partnerships, ideally within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industries.
  • Proven success managing complex cross-border transactions from origination through integration.
  • Thorough understanding of the global healthcare and pharmaceutical landscape, including regulatory and commercial frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation and leadership abilities, with the capability to align diverse stakeholders towards a shared strategic goal.
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive and adaptable, with the confidence to lead in fast-paced international settings.
