About the Project MeSo Lab is developing Spelltails, a mobile hero-collector gacha game featuring deep character IP, intricate social systems, and extensive live-ops potential. We are building a fandom-first gaming experience and need a leader to drive our go-to-market strategy.
The Role We are looking for a senior, hands-on Marketer to build a fandom-driven brand and convert community energy into measurable growth. You will own strategy and execution across brand, social media, creator partnerships, and go-to-market, with a specialized focus on niche fandom audiences (including furry and anime communities) and gacha-native marketing strategies.
What You’ll Do
- Brand & Positioning: Define the game’s visual identity, voice, and messaging pillars specifically tailored for high-engagement fandom audiences.
- Community Strategy: Build and manage a robust Discord and social ecosystem, including moderation structures, community rituals, and events that foster a safe, inclusive environment.
- Social & Content Engine: Own the day-to-day social output (short-form video, memes, character spotlights, dev logs). Establish a repeatable posting cadence and content calendar.
- Creator & Influencer Program: Identify and recruit streamers, artists, cosplayers, and VTubers. Structure briefs, performance incentives, and creator drops.
- Campaigns & Beats: Plan and execute major marketing beats (Announcement → Closed Beta → Launch), including trailers, store pages, and press coverage.
- Gacha/Live-Ops Marketing: Design “banner hype” events and retention content that aligns with gacha player psychology while maintaining ethical standards.
- Growth Analytics: Define KPIs, set up reporting, and run rapid experiments on creative testing and funnel improvements.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 3–7+ years of marketing experience in the gaming industry (Mobile F2P strongly preferred).
- Gacha Expertise: Deep familiarity with hero collector marketing (banner beats, character hype cycles, live-ops cadence).
- Community First: Proven ability to grow and manage Discord-native brands.
- Creative Instincts: Strong copywriting and direction skills; ability to ship high-quality assets quickly.
- Execution: Comfortable operating as a "team of one" initially—you can strategize at a high level and execute the groundwork.
- Bonus: Existing relationships with creators or communities adjacent to furry fandom, anime, cosplay, fanart, or VTubers.
Compensation & Contract Details
- Type: Remote, Independent Contract.
- Compensation: $2,000 - $4,000 USD / Month – Based on experience and scope.
- Hours: Flexible / Project-based.
