Our client is seeking a senior commercial leader to drive business growth, strengthen customer partnerships, and develop the next generation of commercial talent.

Your objectives:


As the Head of Business Development, you will be measured against the following objectives:

  1. Accelerate sustainable revenue growth by securing new customers and expanding strategic partnerships across Europe and selected global markets.
  2. Strengthen the organisation’s position in sterile injectables and higher value drug products through credible senior level customer engagement.
  3. Build and develop a high performing business development team with clear succession planning and future leadership capability.


What you will do:


As the Head of Business Development, your duties and responsibilities will include:

· Lead commercial strategy and execution across the CDMO business, aligned with long term growth objectives.

· Represent the organisation credibly with senior customer stakeholders, including Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Operating Officer (COO), and Chief Technical Officer (CTO) level contacts.

· Win new customers and expand existing relationships through trusted, long term partnerships.

· Drive growth in sterile injectables and higher value medicines, aligned with strategic investment priorities.

· Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Business Development Managers across multiple European locations.

· Work closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and executive leadership team to shape and deliver overall business strategy.

· Act as the senior commercial voice within executive discussions, contributing insight on markets, customers, and competitive positioning.


These are the skills and experience you will need to succeed:


· Proven senior commercial leadership experience within the pharmaceutical CDMO sector.

· A strong track record of acquiring new customers and building long term strategic partnerships.

· Established industry network and credibility with senior stakeholders across Europe and internationally.

· Experience in sterile injectables and higher value drug products is highly desirable.

· Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop business development teams within a multi country structure.

· Clear ambition and capability to progress into a future Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) role.

· Collaborative leadership style with strong communication skills, integrity, and executive presence.
