Role Overview
The Head of Business Development & Industry Partnerships will lead market development,
revenue generation, and high-level relationship building in Germany. This is a commercial,
strategic, and outward-facing role focused on creating opportunities, closing deals, and building
trust with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development & Revenue Creation
• Drive paid partnerships, advisory projects, and membership revenue
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of German opportunities
• Convert relationships into commercial outcomes for NEX42
2. Local Ecosystem Leadership
• Represent NEX42 locally in Germany
• Lead executive roundtables, delegations, and strategic meetings
• Build and maintain relationships with ministries, defense organizations, enterprises, and
primes
3. Deal-Making & Market Entry Support
• Match companies from NEX42’s network with German needs, partners, and buyers
• Identify opportunities for pilots, evaluations, and industrial cooperation• Support companies entering Germany with access, guidance, and local market insights
4. Strategic Partnerships & Influence
• Engage with national programs, public-sector innovation units, and industrial associations
• Develop partnerships with OEMs, research institutions, integrators, and system houses
• Support dual-use and industrial resilience initiatives
5. Contribution to NEX42 Venture Pipeline
• Scout and validate high-potential companies for potential investment
• Evaluate technological fit, demand signals, and dual-use potential
Candidate Profile
Experience & Background
• Defense/security industry, government relations, industrial/tech business development,
strategy consulting (security, aerospace, energy, industrials), or innovation hubs/dual-use
programs
• Proven ability to generate commercial results and navigate complex ecosystems
Required Skills
• 4+ years of experience in business development or a similar role within industry,
government entities, the Bundeswehr, or critical infrastructure.
• Strong network in German government, defense, enterprise, or industrial sectors
• Ability to establish trust and open doors quickly
• Comfortable with high-level discussions (ministries, C-level, military, OEMs)
• Strong commercial instincts and revenue-generation skills
• Ability to navigate policy, procurement, and regulatory environments
• Fluency in German and English
