About The Role
The Starfish Canada is seeking a Graphics Specialist to join our marketing team and amplify our climate action programs across digital and analog channels. This role will work as part of our marketing team, using visual storytelling to grow our reach, increase engagement, and execute marketing campaigns with clarity, consistency, and impact.
As part of a dynamic and nimble team, this role will bring the stories of our climate education and leadership programs to life, contributing to high-priority initiatives that raise awareness, drive engagement, and showcase youth environmental leadership.
This role is ideal for someone who’s creative, collaborative, and committed to building an inclusive and accessible presence for The Starfish Canada.

- Type: Full-time student position, remote/online
- Salary: $23.28/hour, plus 4% pay in lieu of vacation
- Hours of work: 35 hours per week
- $450 professional development fund
- Laptop provided (or $60 annual reimbursement if using personal laptop)
- Paid time off: Two weeks during late December/early January, plus extended long weekends for select statutory holidays

Eligibility
Due To Funding Requirements, Candidates Must
- Be under 30 years old at the start of employment
- Be a student at a post-secondary institution in Canada
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number and legal entitlement to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and create the visual identity of our digital marketing strategies and campaigns across key platforms and channels (Instagram, TikTok, email campaigns, etc.)
- Create and design print/physical marketing materials as part of our brand identity, including magazines, banners, and pamphlets
- Video editing or motion graphics to support Instagram Reels, Youtube Shorts, and TIkTok
- Adhere to brand guidelines and ensure a consistent brand presence across our visual identity
- Coordinate marketing efforts across programs, balancing routine work, new initiatives, and special projects while improving efficiency and reducing overlaps.
- Support cross-program needs, including administration, content creation, community outreach, and event planning.

- Communicate clearly and build strong relationships with participants, partners, and community members - both virtually and in person
- Think critically to identify efficiencies, reduce redundancies, and improve program delivery
- Education in science communications, digital marketing, or a related field (asset)
- Working proficiency in French (asset)
- Familiarity with and experience working alongside Indigenous communities to design and co-create marketing resources, with proven relationship-building skills in these contexts (asset)
- Experience with marketing tools and platforms, including Design tools (Canva) and social media planning tools (HeyOrca, Hootsuite, or similar tools)
- Strong analytical skills for measuring campaign performance and optimizing strategies.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, connecting and collaborating virtually with a diverse team
