We are looking for a social media journalist to turn our previously-written articles into graphics and share them across all social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, specifically Instagram.

The Graphic Designer Intern is responsible for reading articles from the Content Team and creating social media posts with graphic designs for various social media platforms. The ideal candidate must have a general understanding of social media platforms and their relative functions, graphic design websites, calendar functions and important dates. This person must possess good interpersonal skills, coordination of dates, times, and holidays, adaptability to change, time management, organization, and establishing deadlines. They must be able to communicate verbally and through writing, think creatively to come up with designs, and think analytically about their relevant audience and capturing content. The ideal candidate will be empathetic, proactive, confident, self-accountable, and passionate about their craft.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • You’ll transform our written articles and data into visuals that are shared on social media. Here are the articles that you’d create graphics for: https://insight.balancenow.co
  • Manage and maintain social media presence on our Instagram (@balancenow.co)
  • Create a time-table and stay consistent
  • Create and share engaging Insta-Stories
  • Be creative on content creation
  • Communicate with other content creators


Desired Skills:

  • Understanding and proficiency in social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn etc.
  • Strong written communication skills, specially catchy copy/headlines
  • Creativity and attention to detail and design
  • Knowledge of graphic design platform: Canva
  • Knowledge of hashtags and maintaining Instagram accounts
  • Passion for diversity and inclusion/social impact
  • Previous experience with social media marketing/creating graphics required


Meetings: Wednesdays 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. PST


Details: This is an unpaid internship. You will work remotely for 15 hours weekly with a flexible schedule. The duration of the internship is a minimum of 4 months to a maximum of 6 months. Interns can earn school credit, work experience in a start-up, and letters of recommendation upon completion.
