About The Role
The Graphic Designer at Westminster Theological Seminary will play a vital role in supporting the marketing and communications efforts of the institution. This part-time position involves creating compelling digital and print collateral that aligns with Westminster's brand identity and strategic goals. The successful candidate will work closely with the Marketing & Communications department to develop visual content for various projects, including magazine layouts, newsletters, event promotion materials, mailers, email templates, and social media assets. The role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute creatively to the seminary’s outreach initiatives, enhance its visual presence, and support its mission through innovative design solutions. The Graphic Designer will also collaborate with videographers and other stakeholders to produce multimedia content, ensuring consistency and quality across all channels. Qualifications
- Professional graphic design experience, preferably with digital marketing materials
- Extensive proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects)
- Experience designing for print media such as magazines, newsletters, and collateral
- Typesetting and layout skills
- Strong project management abilities, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to develop both print and digital content for various channels
- Alignment with Westminster’s brand guidelines and style
- Self-motivated with a proactive and creative mindset
- Familiarity with Christian organizations’ content and audience preferences (preferred)
- Knowledge of competitors and partner institutions in the Christian sector (preferred)
- Portfolio showcasing prior work and design capabilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and handle constructive feedback
- Experience with storyboarding, mockups, and animation is a plus
- Design and produce creative collateral to meet project deadlines, including magazine issues, newsletters, flyers, ads, invitations, mailers, and social media content
- Collaborate with team members on conceptualization, editing, and execution of design projects
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of design trends and software to ensure high-quality outputs
- Create storyboards, mockups, and illustrations for multimedia projects in partnership with videographers
- Monitor industry and competitor collateral to identify strategic design opportunities
- Ensure all creative assets adhere to Westminster’s brand guidelines and standards
- Organize and manage digital asset files on platforms such as Dropbox or Google Drive for easy team access
- Assist in developing visual content that effectively communicates the seminary’s mission and initiatives
- Support the marketing team in conceptualizing and executing campaigns for events and outreach programs
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and workflows
