About The Role

The Environmental Graphic Designer II at CannonDesign is a dynamic and creative professional who excels in solving complex design challenges through innovative visual solutions. This role involves working closely with renowned global brands across various sectors, including commercial workplaces, healthcare facilities, and sports environments, to reimagine how their identities are expressed within physical spaces. As part of the Experiential Graphic Design team, you will collaborate with interior designers and architects to elevate spaces into memorable experiences that resonate with visitors and users. The ideal candidate is curious, technically skilled, and passionate about transforming conceptual ideas into compelling, functional environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to projects that inspire and connect communities, aligning with CannonDesign’s mission of Living-Centered Design.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Architecture, or a related design field
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong design portfolio demonstrating versatility across markets
  • Proficiency in typography and detailed graphic design
  • Experience in 3-dimensional design, wayfinding, exhibition, and environmental graphics
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) on Mac
  • Knowledge of Revit and SketchUp is a plus
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects efficiently

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all phases of the design process, from concept development to artwork production
  • Translate client needs and ideas into compelling visual concepts that reflect their mission and values
  • Support project execution by developing storyboards, detailed designs, and final artwork for fabrication
  • Create highly detailed graphic solutions across various media including signage, wayfinding, exhibits, and environmental graphics
  • Develop documentation such as graphic programs, signage systems, donor recognition, and interpretive exhibits under the guidance of design leaders
  • Produce camera-ready artwork suitable for fabrication and installation
  • Engage actively in team meetings, design critiques, and collaborative brainstorming sessions
  • Prepare visualizations and mockups using digital models to communicate design intent effectively
  • Collaborate closely with project teams, interior designers, and architects to ensure cohesive design integration
