This is a rare opportunity for a high‑impact, entrepreneurial leader to build, shape, and scale the German organization from the ground up—driving the launch of an innovative therapy for patients living with a rare disease and high unmet medical need.
The Opportunity
The General Manager Germany will hold full P&L responsibility and oversee all commercial, regulatory, operational, and strategic activities in the country. You will establish the German organization, define and execute the go‑to‑market strategy, and build high-performing teams across Medical, Market Access, and Commercial.
You will also act as the senior company representative in Germany, shaping visibility, partnerships, and stakeholder engagement.
This role requires a dynamic, decisive executive with a hands-on approach, strong leadership presence, and deep expertise in biotech/pharma launches.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the comprehensive commercial plan for Germany, ensuring revenue and profit targets are achieved.
- Build and lead the German organization with a strong focus on Market Access, reimbursement, commercial excellence, and medical/scientific collaboration.
- Own the end-to-end launch of a first-in-class therapy, aligning closely with global Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Compliance, and Operations.
- Represent the company with German authorities, policy bodies, patient organizations, and scientific stakeholders.
- Build, inspire, and develop a competitive, customer-facing commercial organization.
- Drive an omnichannel commercial model to accelerate brand awareness and adoption.
- Ensure operational excellence, including KPI definition, forecasting, business planning, and adherence to German regulatory requirements.
- Foster a culture of integrity, collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
Your Profile
- 10+ years of progressive commercial leadership experience within at least one US Biotech company.
- Proven track record of successful product launches—ideally in Endocrinology, Ophthalmology, Rare Diseases, or other Specialty Care in biotech.
- Strong expertise in German Market Access (AMNOG), pricing & reimbursement, and multi-stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated experience building new organizations and leading within complex environments.
- Full P&L ownership experience and strong financial acumen.
- Academic degree required; MBA preferred.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
- Entrepreneurial, hands-on, strategic mindset—comfortable operating at high speed in a growing international biotech.
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
